alginate facial masques

Alginate masques are versatile and can compliment other salon services - eye and lip treatments, body treatments, pedicures, manicures, aggressive peels, laser treatments and post microdermabrasion. The plant extracts create a calming and soothing effect, while built-in moisturizers combat dryness.

The application of these masques create an occlusive cover that encourages the ingredient penetration of prior serums and ampoule applications. No gauze is needed and can be applied directly over the eye area. The neutral alginate masque acts as a conductor when used with iontophoreses.

Colour change indicators for mixing times:
mixing time (violet) - 45 sec
total working time (Pink) - 1 min
setting time (light pink) - 2mins
recommend to leave on skin for 7-10mins  If you require more time with mixing and application, use cold water/distilled water and this will increase setting time. Advisable to use cold water when using product for the first time or training with the product.  instructions
mix briskly 30g powder with 80ml room temperature water/ distilled water (cold water for longer setting time) in a rubber bowl, to create a smooth, creamy purple paste. This action needs to be rapid, similar to whipping cream. A nylon spatula is required for mixing.
apply alginate masque on the forehead then spread down the sides of the face and across chin and mouth creating a thick layer over the skin
may be applied to closed eyelids but do not cover nostrils
avoid eyes and mouth in nervous clients
leave on the face for 7-10mins.
peel slowly off the face
remove any remnants of the masque with a warm towel

when iontophoresis:
the neutral masque acts as a conductor so no gauze is required.
mix neutral alginate, apply to area and allow to set.
attach crocodile clips directly to the masque.
make sure the clips rest on dry cotton wool not directly onto the skin.
remove clips and peel slowly off the face
remove any remnants of the masque with a warm towel
